JESUS DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE

Hebrews 9:28 (AMP) “Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.” Dear people of God, a friend of mine recently told me how he sat with his own friends who were taking alcohol and when asked if he wanted some, one of them responded to say they knew he would not take alcohol. However, another one of them said it is not people like my friend Jesus is coming for since the bible says Jesus came for sinners and so it is they taking alcohol that Jesus is coming for. I asked my friend what his response was and he said those guys are lost and so he did not bother to respond. I pointed out to him that he missed an opportunity there to share the Gospel with them and to clarify their ignorance about Christ’s ...

FALLING IN LOVE WITH JESUS

Falling in love with our Lord Jesus Christ is the best thing that can happen to anyone. One thing you will discover is a peace in your heart and life that surpasses all human understanding.  Something else you will realize is that with Jesus there is nothing to worry about because He is able to provide all your needs, as long as it is according to His will or in line with His Word in the Holy Bible. Even when people offend you, as long as you recall that Jesus died for your sins also and you offend Him every single day of your life knowingly and unknowingly, you would readily forgive the offender. Unfortunately, not very many Christians are able to reach this level of understanding because their minds are distracted by the cares of this world. This is the reason our Lord Jesus Christ told the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 to distinguish the different kinds of mind-set people have in relation to God's Word and how it affects their lives. According to o...

WILL JESUS CHRIST EVER FORGIVE ME?

This is the question I saw a young man ask on television today as I watched a Christian programme on open air preaching. A group of people were sharing the Gospel via open air preaching in Vienna Austria and this young man happened to be passing by, heard the message and stopped to listen. He then spoke to a member of the group of preachers and said he wanted to ask a question. He then asked this question of today's topic and went on to say he had been struggling with hard drugs but he had asked God for forgiveness, he now reads his bible but he usually found himself crying while praying to God. He said he had done a lot of very bad things in the past, which was why he was struggling with the question whether God would forgive him or not. Dear friend, there are so many people in today's world struggling with this same question - will Jesus Christ forgive me? Their reason stems from their perception of the severity of the atrocities they have committed and they...

PREACHING THE GOSPEL FOR MONEY

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 “I am grateful that God always makes it possible for Christ to lead us to victory. God also helps us spread the knowledge about Christ everywhere and this knowledge is like the smell of perfume. In fact, God thinks of us as a perfume that brings Christ to everyone. For people who are being saved, this perfume has a sweet smell and leads them to a better life. But for people who are lost, it has a bad smell and leads them to a horrible death. No one really has what it takes to do this work. A lot of people try to get rich from preaching God's message. But we are God's sincere messengers, and by the power of Christ we speak our message with God as our witness.” Dear people of God, my spouse told me recently of a lady she saw in a market preaching the Gospel and when she was done, she asked her audience, the traders, to contribute whatever they had to her ministry. Traders then gave her money, pepper, tomatoes, crayfish, and other food...

WHY WORRY WHEN YOU CAN TELL JESUS CHRIST?

These days anytime I hear people lamenting over a situation and they say there is nothing they can do about it, I usually respond, "But you can pray about it." By the grace of God, I have come to realise that I am supposed to pray over every situation or challenge I have. If I choose to worry, it means I limit God in His capacity, willingness and ability to help me. Worry never solves any problem but rather has a negative effect on the individual who worries. Worry affects your health, limits God from helping you because of doubt and opens the door to satan and his agents to attack the individual. The challenge with most of us Christians is that we do not fully grasp what it means to have a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. We see Jesus Christ the way we see a human being, that is, there should be a limit to what we should ask or discuss with Him. On the contrary, Jesus is ever willing to listen to us because He has clearly told us in...

HOW CAN JESUS CHRIST BE BOTH A CHRISTIAN AND MUSLIM AT THE SAME TIME?

The word Christian is derived from the phrase "Christ-like", that is, exhibiting the qualities of our Lord Jesus Christ, e.g. humility, love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, patience, etc. According to God's Word in Acts 11:26, it was at Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians. A Christian is therefore a follower of Jesus Christ in character. Note I said in character and not just profession by word of mouth. Drawing from this preamble, it is therefore surprising to see Muslims claim that Jesus Christ is a prophet in Islam. How, therefore, can the same Jesus Christ be a Christian and Muslim at the same time? Islam draws it claim from a comment of Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible where He stated in John 14:16-17, "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever– 17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world can...

THE GREATEST BEING WHO CAME TO EARTH

Colossians 1:15-20   15 "[Now] He (Jesus) is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation. 16 For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. 17 And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). [Prov. 8:22-31.] 18 He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent]. 19 For it has pleased [the Father] that all the divine fullness (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him permanently. 20 And God purposed that through (by t...
