TALK IS EXPENSIVE, NOT CHEAP

Mark 11:22-23 (KJV) “ 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Dear people of God, there are a number of sayings used in everyday common conversation that when reviewed against the Truth of God’s Word shows clearly that they are wrong. A typical example is when people say “talk is cheap.” Those who say this are actually saying that action should follow talk and not just talk for the sake of talking. In today’s lead Holy Bible text above, the Lord Jesus has told us clearly that whatsoever we declare with our mouths and believe in our hearts shall come to pass. The truth is, a human can only declare with his mouth what is in his or her heart. This is so because the Lord Jesus ...

HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY SOUND GOSPEL TEACHING?

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (AMPC) “ For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, 4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths  and man-made fictions.” Dear people of God, we are currently living in the era the Word of God in today’s lead text above refers. There are many ministers of the Gospel today who have not been called by God but are trying to help God and they then get themselves entangled with the devil. As a result, not only do they preach the wrong doctrine but they also practice wrongdoing as a result of not being grounded in God’s Word. I have an elderly friend with whom I share the Gospel on a regular basis and whenever he hears me preach about rig...

WHY YOU MUST NOT TAKE MARITAL ISSUES TO THIRD PARTIES OF OPPOSITE GENDER FOR ADVICE

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (AMPC) “ Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands [who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin]. 13 For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you  and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear].  But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted  and tried  and assayed beyond your ability  and strength of resistance  and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable  and strong  and powerful to bear up under it patiently.” Dear peop...

GOD NEEDS YOUR CO-OPERATION, NOT YOUR HELP

When it comes to a Christian’s relationship with God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, it is important to distinguish between co-operating with God and helping God. When you co-operate with God, it simply means you obey His Word in the Holy Bible and do what He says. When you want to help God, it means you are not acting with His instruction and this could most certainly have catastrophic consequences. We see a typical example of this in Bible history with Abraham our Father in faith. At 75 years of age, God called him out of idolatry in his extended family and took him to another land to have a genuine spiritual relationship with God. At this time, Sarah, Abraham’s wife was 65 years and both of them were still in search of the fruit of the womb. God had promised to make Abraham not just a parent but a father of nations, which is why God changed his name from Abram to Abraham. 10 years after this promise, Sarah tried to help God achieve thi...

DO YOU WISH YOURSELF EVIL?

Dear friends, I know the topic of today’s message sounds strange but it is necessary to ask this question because of the way some professing Christians behave. When a Pharisee who was a lawyer asked the Lord Jesus Christ which was the greatest commandment of God, this is what the Lord responded as stated in Matthew 22:37-40, “ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). [Deut. 6:5.] 38 This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as [you do] yourself. [Lev. 19:18.] 40 These two commandments sum up  and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Majority of humans who believe in God understand what it means to love God above all else because God is our Creator, Father, Provider, Protector and so on and so forth. On the other hand, very few people understand what it means to love our neighb...

GOD’S WORD ALWAYS PRODUCES MIRACLES

Matthew 9:35-36 (AMPC) “ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and every weakness  and infirmity. 36 When He saw the throngs, He was moved with pity  and sympathy for them, because they were bewildered (harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless), like sheep without a shepherd.” Dear people of God, there are two ways miracles happen in this world: (1) through a move of God’s anointing by the Holy Spirit AS THE SPIRIT WILLS and (2) through anointing in God’s Word in the Holy Bible.   Majority of Christians are aware of the first miracle process while few are aware of the second miracle process. This is the reason why many Christians fail to take study of God’s Word and meditation therein as seriously as they seek miracles at the hands of pastors and men of God. This is also why many Christians fail to b...
