GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD

1 Corinthians 1:9 (AMPC)   “ God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship  and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”   Dear people of God, I want to share with you another exciting testimony of the faithfulness of God to His promises in His Word.   Over and over again, I have seen this happen and I thank God immensely for who He is – a loving Father and a God of integrity.   On Saturday night of January 25, 2020 as I was on my way to having a haircut, I received a call from a friend of mine who told me he was still ill despite several visits to the hospital since December 10, 2019 when he first noticed his condition.   I knew he was ill but I did not know how serious it was until he told me that Saturday night. He told me that every time he visited the restroom to empty his bowels, he would be in severe pain for about 3 hours before he had ...

THE CHRISTIAN SPIRIT

Romans 12:14-17 (AMPC) “ Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.   15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others' grief].   16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things]  and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself  or be wise in your own conceits. [Prov. 3:7.]   17 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest  and proper  and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. [Prov. 20:22.]”     Dear people of God, no doubt everyone encounters that one person you would feel highly offended at over a severe hurt the person has inflicted on you.   This is the reason people react to avenge a hurt caused them. This is why spouses quarrel and go their separate ways. ...

PARENTAL MONITORING AND DISCIPLINE OF CHILDREN (2)

Proverbs 23:24-25 “The father of the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) shall greatly rejoice, and he who becomes the father of a wise child shall have joy in him.   25 Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her who bore you rejoice.”   Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we saw the dangers kids are exposed to nowadays as a result of peer pressure, wrong choices of people they associate with as friends as well as poor guidance and concentration on only material well-being of kids by their parents.   Every parent is extremely happy when their kids turn out well in character. This point is further buttressed by today’s lead Holy Bible text above.   However, there is a consequential responsibility on the part of the parents to ensure their kids turn out well.   You must show responsibility to your kids by word and deed. Whatever you tell your kids to do, you must display by your own per...

CONFLICT OVER OWNERSHIP OF CHURCH OR CHURCH POSITIONS

Ephesians 5:23-28  “ For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savio u r of [His] body.   24 As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands.   25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her,   26 So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word,   27 That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].   28 Even so husbands should love their wives as [being in a sense] their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.”   Dear people of God, the above Scriptures are self-explanatory. Unfortunately, not every Christian pays serious attention to God’s Word.   God has said He values the individual who is humble, of a contrite spirit and trembles at...

HINDRANCES TO PRAYER

1 Timothy 2:8    “ I desire therefore that in every place men should pray, without anger  or quarreling  or resentment or doubt [in their minds], lifting up holy hands.”   Dear people of God, prayer is a necessity for anyone who would successfully navigate the challenges of this life.   You cannot measure a person’s success in life just by material things because there are very many wealthy people whose lives are in severe crisis, e.g. marital squabbles, health challenges, insomnia, unruly kids, fear of death (Thanatophobia), fear of failure (Atychiphobia), fear of air travel (Aerophobia), etc.   With prayer to God in faith and trust, every human being would surely obtain that peace of mind that surpasses all understanding as God’s Word says in Philippians 4:6-7.   However, today’s main Holy Bible text shows there are hindrances to prayer that everyone should first deal with before going to God in prayer.   These are listed as anger, quarreli...

DEALING WITH TRAGEDY

1 John 5:19 (AMPC) “We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one.”   Dear people of God, there is no easy way of dealing with tragedy – loss of a loved one, loss of a job, terminal illness, an accident, severe injury caused by a violent spouse, marital separation, etc.   Such incidents are always accompanied by pain and emotional trauma at times depending on the level of understanding of the person(s) affected.   So how does one deal with such issues?   First of all, let me make it clear that God is NOT the cause of tragedy. The story of Job  in Job  Chapter 1 of the Holy Bible is instructive here.   Yes, God PERMITTED the tragedy but Job CAUSED it. How, you ask? Look at Job’s  statement in Job 3:25, “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, and that of which I am afraid befalls me.”   You can see from Job’s  statement that he was living in fear and fear opens the do...

WHOM YOU SHOULD FOLLOW

Romans 11:29 (AMPC) “ For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”   Dear friend, as is usual with most of us, we would have reflected over 2024 and made some resolutions, goals and commitments for 2025.   My simple advice to everyone reading this message today is that you include the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah and Master of the Universe in whatever plans you have for 2025.   You must include Jesus Christ because He is the ONLY person Who would never mislead you because of His unfailing love for you as your Creator and God.   You must therefore follow Him wholeheartedly by diligent study, meditation, obedience and action on His Word in the Holy Bible. When you do this, you can be sure that your every prayer would be answered because He has said for you to ask God the Father anything in His (Jesu...
