Revelation 2:7 (AMPC) “He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Dear people of God, whenever I hear a message I am sure is from God, I have a serious obligation to share with Christians and non-Christians for their own good. This is consistent with God’s commands in Ezekiel 3:17-21. And so it was that on Sunday November 12, 2017, a young man from one of the parishes of my church assembly came to give us a message he got from the Lord. Hebrews 13:4 (AMPC) “Marriage is to be honoured by all, and husbands and wives must be faithful to each other. God will judge those who are immoral and those who commit adultery.” Dear people of God, a friend of mine told me an experience he had at a church program he attended some years ago. There were many married couples present at the gathering of about 5,000 people and the officiating minister asked a question, “Since you have been married, if you as a man know you have never beaten your wife or cheated on her with another woman, raise up your hand.” My friend said only 4 men, himself inclusive raised up their hand in the entire congregation of married folks. That testimony gives a grim picture of the society in which we live today. The moral decadence in many of today’s marriages has hit a very dangerous low that acts that were previously termed a taboo are now openly celebrated. Genuine wealth is given by God to humans. However, the unsaved person believes he is responsible for his wealth through his hard work. And for this reason, the unsaved wealthy individual believes he does not need God. The Lord Jesus makes it clear in Mark 10:24-25, “ Children, how hard it is for those who trust (place their confidence, their sense of safety) in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Some preachers have tried to down play the seriousness of Jesus’ Words above but the Lord means exactly what He says concerning those who put their trust in riches and not in the God Who created them. Even these days, it is quite difficult to reach wealthy people to preach the Gospel of Repentance and Salvation to them because they surround themselves with so many human obstacles in the name of security for fear of being molested or attacked. When the Lord Jesus taught His apostles to pray, these were the Words He used in Matthew 6:9-13 that we have come to know as the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. 13 And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Deuteronomy 34:7 (GNB) “Moses was 120 years old when he died; he was as strong as ever, and his eyesight was still good.” Dear people of God, there is a very wrong impression most people have Christians inclusive, which is that old age brings weakness and sickness to one’s body. There is not one Scripture in the Bible that supports this erroneous statement but most believers have come to accept it out of ignorance. Today’s lead Scripture tells us that Moses the man of God died at 120 years of age and he was as strong as ever and his eye sight was still good. When a man speaks, he may or may not be telling the truth. The only way to tell whether the man is telling the truth is when he does exactly what he says. Life has shown especially nowadays that a lot of people make promises they simply do not keep. They break agreements at will, they dishonour commitments and just fail to keep their word. As a result, the world is such that people have learned not to take the words of humans seriously. Until the person performs what he has said would the listener believe he is telling the truth. This is why men promise marriages to women and refuse to turn up on the wedding day. This is why countries go to war with each other. This is why companies take themselves to court to settle issues of distrust. This is why electorates the world over are fed up with the lies of political office holders who promise them one thing during the campaign period and do the very opposite once they are elected into office.
