PRAYING FOR SOMETHING GOD’S WORD ALREADY PROVIDES AN ANSWER FOR

Sometimes as Christians, we wonder why God does not respond to our prayers on certain issues especially for matured Christians in the faith. One reason I have found out as God has shown me is that we pray for something God’s Word already tells us how to deal with. A typical example is when you pray to God to help you deal with sickness. God’s Word says in Matthew 8:17, “ And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself (Jesus Christ) took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses  and infirmities and bore away our diseases.”   This Scripture clearly tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ took away our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases. This Scripture applies to every Christian who lives in righteous obedience to God’s commandments in the Holy Bible. The Christian who understands this Scripture should just stand on the Truth of this Scripture, worship and thank God for it, agree with God and then command sicknes...

GOD DID NOT SAVE YOU TO GO TO HEAVEN ALONE

Every Christian in this world was at one time a sinner living a godless life. However, a day came when God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ intervened in the sinner’s life. The sinner then repented of the sinful life, confessed sin to God with a promise never to go back again to sin, forsook sin, accepted the Lordship of Jesus as Messiah and made a conscious effort at obeying all of God’s commandments in the Holy Bible. God did this because He loves you whom He has made a Christian. However, I must tell you that God’s saving grace came into your life as a result of prayer made by someone or some persons you either know or do not know. If that did not happen, chances are that you would still be leading a sinful life in disobedience to God’s commandments and if you had died in such lifestyle, you would have gone to an eternal damnation in HELL. Thank God Who made His saving grace available for you to enter into His Kingdom of light away and out of sa...

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR HEAVEN?

The Word of God tells Christians in Philippians 3:20 (AMPC), “ But we are citizens of the state (commonwealth, homeland) which is in heaven, and from it also we earnestly  and patiently await [the coming of] the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [as] Savior, ” It is therefore amazing when I read or listen to comments by some Christians who behave as though they would live here on this earth forever. When you mention the fact that the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent, some would even argue that they have been hearing that statement for so long and till now it is yet to happen. What does the Bible say about God’s patience with mankind? Let us see 2 Peter 3:8-9, “ Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. [Ps. 90:4.] 9 The Lord does not delay  and is not tardy  or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slownes...

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Mark 9:23 (AMPC) “And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!” Dear people of God, last night I watched a documentary on cable television of a true story of how 3 men – Tim Jenkin, Stephen Lee and Alex Moumbaris - escaped from prison in Apartheid era South Africa in 1979. The men were arrested in 1976 as political prisoners having been accused of terrorism against the government of the day and were sentenced to between 8 – 12 years. Though these prisoners were white men, they were part of the African National Congress (ANC) team who were at that time fighting the repressive Apartheid Regime of the era that was discriminating against blacks in their own land. Now, having studied the prison environment, two of them started a plot to escape and they were later joined by 6 others. The plot initiator, Tim Jenkin had experience with door locks and how they work, so he was able to create a woode...

IS JESUS THE LORD OF YOUR LIFE?

Luke 6:46-49 , “ Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you? 47 For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My Words [in order to heed their teaching] and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake  or move it, because it had been securely built  or founded on a rock . 49 But he who merely hears and does not practice doing My Words is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it collapsed  and fell, and the breaking  and ruin of that house was great.” A number of Christians do not understand the difference between Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Jesus Christ as their Lord. As Saviour, Jesus died to rescue us from all control and dominion of the power...

LUCK? WHAT IS THAT?

One online dictionary website defines “LUCK” as success or failure apparently brought by CHANCE rather than through one's own actions. Now the word “CHANCE” means something that happens accidentally. With this definition, we see that LUCK assumes some things or incidents happen outside of God’s knowledge. However, the Word of God tells us in Hebrews 4:13, “ And not a creature exists that is concealed from His (God’s) sight, but ALL THINGS are open  and exposed, naked  and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do. This means nothing is hidden from God. This is why we say God is Omnipotent (all Powerful), Omnipresent (everywhere) and Omniscient (all knowing). How then can someone, and even some Christians for that matter ever speak about something or someone being lucky? If you believe there is an Almighty God Who has the aforementioned attributes, why then would you speak about luck? To speak about Luck is to state or assume God does ...

SEEK GOD AND LIVE

There is a common saying that every human being has 3 basic needs, which are: (1)         Food (2)         Shelter (3)         Clothing Let us see what the Lord tells us in Amos 5:4 (AMPC), “ For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me [inquire for and of Me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live! ” God says the house of Israel should seek Him, as they require food for their body, and they shall live. Someone may argue and say but the message is addressed to the Israelites. Yes, the Israelites are descendants or seed of Abraham as we understand. However, all Christians are also seed of Abraham by virtue of being joined to the Lord Jesus Christ as recorded in God’s Word in Galatians 3:29. With that understanding in mind, the next question is, how are we to seek God as we require food so we can live? We are to seek God with ...
